BREAKING! Our Event Staff is Ready: England’s Events Start on 1 October! 8 Gov’s Guidelines

England’s Events Will Be Permitted Again Starting on 1 October 2020. Our COVID-19 Trained Event Staff can’t wait!

Boris Johnson’s public announcement confirms that from October events will finally be allowed again, keeping in mind that it will only happen if the epidemic situation will allow it. From here to the return of events, there are a few steps. From 1 August, 30 people events will be allowed. The MICE (Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) brings in 32,6 billions of GBP in the UK Gross National Product and in 2018 it represented a fourth of the UK’s 28 millions of international visitors.

Events’ comeback to a new normal

England reopens events’ doors starting in October, aware of their socio-economical value. “Business events and conferences are a vital part of the UK’s economy, and this is an essential step in getting them back up and running safely,” says Nigel Huddleston, Minister for Tourism. “England has an excellent reputation in staging fantastic events that help drive growth for many different sectors, and this will give the business event sector the certainty it needs to plan for the future. The Prime Minister’s decision won’t change if the rate of infection will stay like it is now.

8 government guidelines event organisers have to follow

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) created eight guidelines Event Professionals have to follow. These guidelines keep event attendees, staff and exhibitors for biological security, to fight COVID-19 spread. Here the official UK Government guidelines Event Professional have to follow to work safely during Coronavirus (COVID-19)

1) Event attendees have to pre-book or pre-register to attend events

2) To reduce waiting times and limit contact with organisers and guests contactless systems will be installed

3) Entrances to the event spaces will be staggered to minimise lines, and overall capacity will be limited to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

4) Spaces between exhibition stands will be increased, and aisles widened to reach social distancing requirements

5) Paper handouts and gifts won’t be allowed

 6) All venues will have enhanced cleaning procedures, with frequent hand washing and sanitising of facilities

7) A digital approach will be adopted to eliminate the use of physical badges and lanyards

8) Events will be planned around one way systems for visitors

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

England’s guidelines do not apply to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. These countries are autonomous. Scotland’s guidance can be found here. Regarding Wales and Northern Ireland you can find more about Wales guidelines here, and more about Northern Ireland containment guidelines here.

London World Travel Market is confirmed

England is open to events in October and therefore confirms the World Travel Market. The famous Tourism trade show will take place in London, beginning on Monday, 2 November and ending on Wednesday, 4 November. The WTM will be one of the first big global meeting post-COVID. The main subjects about the event will be reconstruction and innovation: London will be the meeting point for the future of the Tourism Industry and strategies to restart it. As always, the World Travel Market will take place at the Excel, the conference and exhibition centre that during the worst of the pandemic was refitted to a temporary hospital.

WORK SAFELY, ONLY HIRE COVID-19 TRAINED EVENT STAFF

Now that we finally know when events will be back, it’s vital to select your event suppliers more than ever carefully. You should only work with COVID-19 trained event professionals and event staff so that they don’t put you, your event attendees, the event industry and themselves in danger.

In Conclusion

We are busy preparing to bounce back to work post lockdown, and after receiving recent enquiries from Clients, we put together a nationwide task force. Our event hosts and event hostesses are required to complete a Covid-19 training module, outsourced with a third party College, which regularly updates all information, making sure our staff is always aware of the latest discoveries on the virus.

Upon completing the course our event hosts and event hostesses will be issued with a certificate, which is available as part of our event hosts and event hostesses’ profile to all our clients, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST.

This way, our professional event staff doesn’t rely on fake news and rumours, putting themselves, our clients and event visitors in danger. We believe this is the responsible and professional thing to do, ensuring that we are going back to what we do brilliantly.
