The first minister Boris Johnson announced the lockdown easing in the UK. The plan lists four steps, each lasting four weeks, based on a roadmap that will keep track of the pandemic cases and therefore is yet to be confirmed. Let’s remember that UK restrictions are still high now, and the first step is about opening schools again, then libraries, hairdressers, and beauticians.
The lockdown easing will depend on Covid-19 cases and the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine effect, which reduced hospitalisation and death rate by 75%.

Events Reopening In The UK
The British reopening includes events, too, as the Government will lift most restrictions starting from the 21st of June, the fourth and final step on the lockdown easing plan. That’s when the Government will lift all limitations. At the moment, there is no additional information.
As seen on the UK Government’s news, even sport and other indoor events will be allowed for locations of at least 1000 seats or using half of the venue capacity, starting from the third phase on the 17th of May. Reopening of other event venues may be tested first. It’s yet to be confirmed.
International Travel Not Before May
The First Minister’s announcement caused an immediate effect on international travel bookings, which will also start during the third phase on the 17th of May, with pubs and indoor restaurants.
UK, Health Secretary: “Everyone has to play their part”
At BBC, Health Secretary Matt Hancock reminded that at the moment, it’s not possible to revoke recommendations and 2 metres social distancing nor facemasks. The secretary hopes that facemasks may become a ‘future personal responsibility’ and not dictated by law.
