Safety and Trust: 4 Dos and Don’ts at F2F Events

What measures stand for my safety? What should I expect once I arrive at the event venue? There are many questions attendees may ask themselves when attending an in-person event when Covid forces reviewing all health and safety guidelines we once used to know.

Even just the decision to attend or not could depend on how much event organisers can transmit that safety feeling to their guests.

First of all, your event website can be the most useful tool to communicate all safety measures and procedures in place, and even how you decided to go ahead with the in-person event, what expertise was adopted to offer a safe event etc.

For example, you could have staffing bubbles at the venue, where event staff comes in quite useful to remind and help to respect Covid health and safety measures.

This step is vital to bring back events safely. You want to make sure you hire only Covid-19 trained event staff. This way, they know how to keep themselves, you, your clients and event attendees safe from Covid-19 associated risks, in addition to being highly experienced and professional, and hand-picked to match your requirements.

In this article, we offer you four exciting website ideas to communicate with your audience about Covid protocols prior your event, and primarily to provide attendees with a handbook, transmitting them trust and desire in attending your event.

MCDONALD’S

The website of the fast-food giant on anti-covid measures offers a good example, especially for their locations. First of all, we found it attractive based on their tone of voice, chosen to instil trust: “At McDonald’s, the safety of our customers and crew is a top priority. Today, more than ever, we remain committed to following state and local health guidelines and will continue implementing coronavirus safety measures to help protect restaurant crew and customers.”

The rest of the page explains with infographics (and for other countries even videos) on all health and safety measures adopted. Their visual style is efficient and following their branding, presenting to clients how they should behave to respect safety guidelines in place.

And finally, these pages can be found easily browsing their website and on search engines.

TUI

The German Tour Operator devoted a whole FAQ page to Covid-19 for clients. It’s a compelling and useful solution, even if TUI could improve the graphic style.

Even here, the tone of voice is the right one to make the client feel understood in case of doubting: “We understand that you might not be ready to book a different holiday. If this is the case…”

IKEA

In our opinion, this one is one of the best pages. Once again, IKEA reaffirms as an efficient and communicative brand. The first useful tip to take from their website is that of having a prominent link on each of their page which is dedicated to safety measures to keep IKEA’s spaces Covid free.

The most exciting aspect to take inspiration from IKEA is the extreme transparency and clarity in explaining their clients about new measures adopted and mostly how to behave when in-store, with clear instructions and direct links to the Gov’s website. Besides, they list all new services about online bookings, visits, etc. and finally a FAQ section.

Venice Film Festival

Venice Film Festival is probably one of the best-planned events during the pandemic at an international level for their anti-Covid measures, even though on their website, their online communication was not the best. Attendees could only buy tickets online, to prevent spreading the infection. However, no explanation was given about this, giving it for granted. Also, the anti-contamination measures adopted were explained in a very institutional way, without rephrasing them, as we saw with the examples above, and creating a clear handbook for attendees and dos and don’ts.
