We all know it as The Business Social Media, which allows you to network with professionals, building up your branding and that of your businesses. We are talking about LinkedIn, which since last year launched some new features that interest #eventprofs in particular: LinkedIn Events.
You may have heard of it already; it’s a new feature that the Microsoft social network launched last year, a social platform that counts 650 million users.
What LinkedIn Events allows you to do is, in a few words, to switch from online to offline networking, transforming relationships from virtual to real ones. This social media interaction was already possible by personal initiative. The social media experts teach how to transform virtual meetings into real ones (we will get back to them post-pandemic sooner or later!) because having a chat with a coffee is always a good idea to know each other, even among professionals.
Thanks to LinkedIn Events, it’s possible to create an event, invite contacts and start discussions on the event’s subjects, to promote the event before, during and after it ends.
Rox Event Staff is the only event staffing agency in the UK that helps you take the headache out of staffing and event marketing in one place.
All our Event Staff took the mass gathering course by WHO, which is now mandatory for them to work with us.

How Do Linkedin Events Work?
LinkedIn Events is a feature that launched last year, which allows you to create an event and invite participants.
If you are not planning to organise an event on LinkedIn, you can still accept someone else’s invite. You could even access some exciting information, which we will have a look at in a minute.
How to create an event on LinkedIn
As organisers, you’ll be able to create an event or implement your page with more content and information. In a few words, you can:
- Manage all information regarding your event anytime
- Invite all your contacts (yes, for now only your contacts, but it’s not unlikely it will be allowed to invite others outside your network in the future)
Now, you can ask yourself: are paid for events included?
LinkedIn Events doesn’t allow to sell tickets directly. If your event is accessible buying tickets only, you can share the online sales link in the “external URL” space. Of course, remember to flag the event can be accessed buying tickets in the event description and in the invites too.
How to take part in a LinkedIn Event
If you accepted an invitation to take part in an event, be aware you can invite someone else yourself among your network, but only if the event is public.
Once you accepted the invite you can:
- Access the LinkedIn Event members list
- Network with other participants
- Take part in the discussions.
- Start and post discussions on the event feed page.
Also, it’s useful to know that LinkedIn Analytics monitors the Event page.
